Editorial Policy

Last updated: August 20, 2026

WealthPast publishes stories and explainers about wealth, money, business, history, and financial decisions. Our editorial purpose is to make complex events understandable without presenting entertainment as personal advice.

Human editorial responsibility

Every article is expected to receive human editorial review before publication. Artificial intelligence may assist with brainstorming, organization, translation, or early research notes, but it is not treated as an authority or primary source. A human reviewer remains responsible for the final wording, factual claims, links, and presentation.

Sources and verification

We seek primary or authoritative sources where practical, including official records, company filings, government publications, reputable books, archives, academic research, and established reporting. We compare important claims when sources disagree and distinguish documented facts from interpretation or narrative framing. The depth of sourcing depends on the subject and the availability of reliable records.

Our general process is explained in Sources & Methodology. Where an article contains a material factual error, we follow the Corrections Policy.

Independence and disclosure

Editorial decisions should not be determined by advertisers, sponsors, affiliate partners, or the commercial prospects of a story. Any material commercial relationship should be disclosed clearly. See our Affiliate Disclosure.

Updates and corrections

We may update articles when new evidence, clearer context, or material errors are identified. When appropriate, we add an update or correction note so readers can understand what changed. Readers can report a possible issue using the Contact page.

Historical and financial context

We aim to avoid sensational claims, unsupported net-worth figures, and false certainty. Historical wealth figures are often estimates and may require explanation about currency, purchasing power, ownership, or source limitations.
